Zeta Theta Xi is a local sorority founded on September 14th, 2010 at the University of Ottawa. We were the first self-funded sorority on the uOttawa campus. While the majority of our sisters are students at uOttawa, we also have sisters who are students at Carleton University and Algonquin College.
As an organization, we strive to consistently be both philanthropic and academic in nature. After all, "Excellence is not a skill, it's a lifestyle". Our sisters strive to break the 'lazy millennial' myth by getting involved within our community. Zeta Theta Xi dedicates ourselves specifically to the Canadian Diabetes Association and CHEO. Our activities promote self-sufficiency, networking skills, and a good work ethic. We want to prove that when a group of dedicated individuals work together, we can be the change we want to see in the world.
We pursue not only excellence in our community, but also within academia. Zeta Theta Xi recognizes that our sisters are first and foremost students. Our organization offers motivation and support to our sisters. We promote membership from different faculties, as we will be able to enrich each other during our time in post-secondary institutions.
Our sisterhood believes that progression stems from diversity because it is in diversity that one can find strength and beauty. At Zeta Theta Xi, our organization is based on love, trust, and honesty between our members. We accept and respect the diversity within our sisters. Zeta Theta Xi prides ourselves on the differences that make each other unique and aim to offer a safe space for any woman from an Ottawa based post-secondary school.
